It is recommended that faculty receive formative feedback on their teaching prior to a summative review.
Generally, reviewers will ask the reviewee to complete a pre-observation form as well as attend a post-observation meeting.
Reviewees can expect to receive feedback on:
- The Learning Climate
- Time Management
- Communication of Goals and Expectations
- Opportunities to Evaluate the Learner
- Opportunities for Feedback
- Opportunities for Self-Directed Learning
Additionally, reviewers may ask the reviewee to identify areas in which they hope to improve and focus on. Reviewees may be asked to provide:
- Syllabi
- Instructor goals and objectives
- Learning outcomes
- Assignments
- Student work
- Teaching statement
