It is recommended that faculty receive formative feedback on their teaching prior to a summative review.

Generally, reviewers will ask the reviewee to complete a pre-observation form as well as attend a post-observation meeting.

Reviewees can expect to receive feedback on:

  • The Learning Climate
  • Time Management
  • Communication of Goals and Expectations
  • Opportunities to Evaluate the Learner
  • Opportunities for Feedback
  • Opportunities for Self-Directed Learning

Additionally, reviewers may ask the reviewee to identify areas in which they hope to improve and focus on. Reviewees may be asked to provide:

  • Syllabi
  • Instructor goals and objectives
  • Learning outcomes
  • Assignments
  • Student work
  • Teaching statement
