Figures
Increasing diversity in the health care workforce has been cited as a solution to narrowing the gap in health care disparities disproportionately experienced by racial and ethnic individuals underrepresented in medicine and individuals of low socioeconomic status. In this section we will give an overview of IUSM’s diversity statistics (based on numbers of individuals underrepresented in medicine (URM), starting broadly at the state and national level, and then at the school and program level (medical school, grad school, residency, faculty).
