Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is seeking a visionary leader for the Director of Core Services. This faculty-level position will serve the Executive Associate Dean for Research Affairs under the Director of Research Administration. The director will provide strategic and operational leadership to core facility managers/technical directors/technical staff to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of individual core facilities.
The ideal candidate will possess an MD, PhD, or equivalent with demonstrated biomedical research experience and coordination of team research. A demonstrated track record of effectively managing key organizational matters while balancing multiple complex priorities, all while meeting deadlines and managing critical issues in a dynamic environment. The ability to interact, influence, and work collaboratively across functions, levels, and departments towards shared objectives is essential. Ability to manage financial and human resources, and oversee development/implementation of strategic initiatives for core operations. Demonstrated ability to query users, gather data, and identify emerging technologies. Proven record of innovative and independent problem-solving skills, combined with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, grantsmanship, application of sound judgment, poise under pressure, and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Must be passionate about science and biomedical research, keeping abreast of new developments and requirements.
