Examples include resources for dependent caregiving demands and a searchable tool for IUSM and IUHP employment policies.

This year’s Women in Medicine & Science Conference will focus on resilience, featuring Shine Chang, Ph.D.; Director of Cancer Prevention Research Training Program UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Shine Chang's session will focus on a few strategies that aim to help faculty survive, indeed, thrive during difficult times. Activities include recognizing and preventing burn-out, discussing strategies for organizing and integrating them into daily practice, and managing professional opportunities.

Scientists and physicians today are required to connect to and tailor their communication for a variety of audiences, in terms non-scientists can understand. This workshop borrows techniques from improvisational theater and communication studies to help participants speak more spontaneously, responsively, and directly. Participants will practice finding common ground with an audience, speaking at different levels of complexity for different audiences, and answering questions about their work.

The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning seeks proposals from faculty teaching at universities across Indiana for the 2016 E.C. Moore Symposium on Excellence in Teaching. Proposals that have application to other disciplines are strongly encouraged. The 2016 E.C. Moore Symposium will be held at the IUPUI Campus Center on Friday, March 25, 2016. The Second Year Show is a class wide production by the second year class at Indiana University School of Medicine. The show will raise money for the second year class’ Match Day. Second Year is a theatrical production that incorporates and provides opportunities for all campuses’ and reflects the satirical thoughts of medical school through the eyes of students, staff, and faculty.
