Teaching @ IUPUI offers workshops throughout the year, which fulfill competencies from the Academy of Teaching Scholars. The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) Academy of Teaching Scholars is a program designed to develop quality and innovation throughout all aspects of instruction within the school.

Feng Zhang, Ph.D. will present his lecture “Genome Editing: Development and Applications” on Thursday, August 30, with reception to follow. The Mark Brothers Award was established in 1997 in honor of Dr. Mark’s older brothers, who emigrated from Canton, China, and settled in South Bend, Indiana, where they built a successful restaurant business. Because of their reverence and respect for higher education, Dr. Mark’s brothers supported his pursuit of a career in medicine.

The IUSM Regatta BBQ is a family-friendly event offering an opportunity for IUSM faculty, staff, and learners to meet, greet, and kick off the school year. The Regatta consists of a half-mile canoe relay competition involving teams of up to eight students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Attendees are strongly encouraged to RSVP.

Research Week features four events focused on advancing the the work of researchers at IUSM.
In his two talks, Jean-luc Doumont, Ph.D. will discuss how to effectively structure research papers and how to cultivate productive professional relationships. George Gopen, Ph.D., J.D. will lead workshops designed to train researchers to write for the reader.



View a screening the documentary “Suited," a film exploring gender identity and expression. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Daniel Freidman, the featured tailor in the film.
