Integrating these methods into basic and applied research produces excellence in science, health & medicine, and engineering research, policy, and practice.

Physicians and scientists are traditionally taught to be problem-solvers; to identify what is going wrong and develop a plan to solve the problem. However, an alternative approach in medical education is Appreciative Inquiry (AI), which adopts a strengths-based approach to identify 'what is going well' with a situation, and how those strength areas can help learners overcome challenges. In this session, participants will explore the concept of AI in the context of medical education.
