To promote productivity and well-being, the Forum will offer writing groups for faculty. Each writing group will be comprised of five writers who will record their time spent writing on a shared, online spreadsheet. A group facilitator will provide weekly email messages and other encouragement. In addition to these online interactions, group members will be invited to attend optional “write-on-site” meetings every other week. The writing groups do not offer feedback on content. Instead, they provide a structure to support writing regularly. Register by Sunday, September 2.

Culture & Conversation is a monthly discussion series focused on issues regarding representational diversity, an inclusive working and learning environment, and cultural competence. These events are hosted by IU School of Medicine Faculty Affairs, Professional Development, Diversity.


The Medical Library’s mission is to advance health care by providing instruction, expertise and leadership in knowledge management. Librarians teach a wide variety of classes based on the needs of IU School of Medicine faculty. All library classes will be streamed live via Zoom.


Faculty meetings are held twice a year to discuss issues of importance to the IU School of Medicine. Faculty are encouraged to attend the meeting in person. However, if you are unable to attend, it will be available via live web stream and teleconference. Instructions for participating remotely are posted on the Faculty Steering Committee webpage. Each year, Faculty Affairs, Professional Development, and Diversity partners with the school's Promotion & Tenure committee to offer a series of information sessions on the promotion and tenure process. This online series provides a guide to navigating the Promotion and Tenure process at IUSM.



Women have achieved significant accomplishments in medicine and science, yet comprise a relatively small proportion of faculty, especially at the highest ranks and positions of leadership. The Stepping Stones of Women in Leadership series creates a space where all faculty and learners can learn about professional development through hearing the personal career journeys of successful women.
