A teaching philosophy is a requirement for the Academy of Teaching Scholars, and is often used as part of a job application, a promotion and tenure dossier, a teaching award nomination, or course syllabi. Webinar participants will take the first steps in articulating their teaching philosophy; those who have already begun to craft a philosophy will have an opportunity to continue that work.

OFAPD facilitates peer reviews of teaching for faculty who are applying for teaching awards, going up for promotion, or just interested in growing their skills as an educator. Our peer reviewers are IUSM faculty who have received training on how to provide high-quality feedback for other faculty, whether they are teaching in the classroom, at the bedside, or in the OR.
