Dr. Austrom will serve as associate dean, and Drs. Leflore and Tori will serve as assistant deans of diversity affairs. They will join Dr. Javier Sevilla-Martir, who currently serves as an assistant dean. The teams in OFAPD and the Diversity Affairs are excited to strengthen the culture of diversity and inclusion within the school of medicine.  Please join us to welcome the new team at a reception on Thursday, August 21 from 4:30pm-6pm.

The IU School of Medicine partners with IUPUI to offer faculty members hired in the past year an opportunity to connect with the resources of the university and learn about important processes such as promotion and tenure.

Back by popular demand, this workshop is designed for faculty and learners planning to apply for federal funding. Dr. John Robertson will lead a series of activities to help participants develop their ideas, identify the most appropriate agency for their project, and gear their arguments and case directly to proposal reviewers.

Come welcome our new faculty members and interact with Dean Jay Hess in a relaxed environment.  While the Regatta runs all day, OFAPD welcomes you and your family to the Fairbanks Hall lobby for lunch at 12 noon. Then, you can stay, enjoy the activities, and cheer the IUSM Regatta Teams on to victory.  Free parking available for IUSM attendees in the Fairbanks Hall parking lot beginning at 11:30am.

Based on Dr. Jean-luc Doumont's popular book, Trees, Maps, and Theorems, this workshop will provide attendees the skills needed to select the appropriate type of image for a given data set and research question, optimize a graph’s layout to reveal a study’s outcomes, and write a caption that is useful for the researcher and reader.
