Spring Culture & Conversation

Culture & Conversation is a monthly discussion series focused on issues regarding representational diversity, an inclusive working and learning environment and cultural competence.

AUDIENCE: Faculty, Staff, and Learners


This 2-day conference is designed for health care providers to learn, develop and apply the skills to ensure that LGBTQ patients receive the care they need.

IU School of Medicine Skill Enhancement Award

The IU School of Medicine Skill Enhancement Award, offered through Faculty Affairs, Professional Development, and Diversity, provides Associate Professors the opportunity to acquire new skills to accelerate the trajectory of their career toward Full Professor. The skill enhancement experiences are expected to occur away from campus over a timeframe of two-five weeks. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  1. Visiting an institution to engage with a collaborator to learn a new technique.
  2. Attending technique/equipment training workshops

Proposals will be funded at a level up to $8,000 (with an expectation of 25% departmental cost-share). Approximately six awards will be given in FY18-19.

We need your help identifying IU School of Medicine’s best teachers. Each year the Indiana University Board of Trustees recognizes faculty excellence in teaching through a program known as the Trustees’ Teaching Awards. Excellence in teaching is the primary factor for selection. We anticipate that approximately 50 outstanding Indiana University School of Medicine teachers will receive the award this year.
