Endowed Chair, Cancer Research

Indiana University Simon Cancer Center (IUSCC) is seeking a collaborative and innovative leader for the role of Lois and Sid Eskenazi Chair in Cancer Research in the Department of Medicine. This is a new endowment offering an exciting opportunity for a scientific leader to build a strong research program in some aspect of the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of cancer.

This position presents a unique opportunity to join the expanding NCI-designated IUSCC. The IUSCC is a patient care, research, and educational organization within the Indiana University School of Medicine, located on the school’s main campus in Indianapolis. The IUSCC research physicians and scientists include more than 200 investigators. IUSCC physicians lead over 300 clinical trials for pediatric and adult cancers. Established academic partnerships on campus include the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, and the Regenstrief Institute (an internationally recognized medical informatics and healthcare research organization). Clinical partners include the Eskenazi, IU Health, and VA health systems (all within walking distance). Internationally, the IUSCC is involved with the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) program that supports collaborative research involving investigators from more than 15 institutions in Africa, Europe, and North America.
