Communicating Science: Programs for Learners, Trainees, and Faculty

Alda-Center-Affiliate-logo_V5

IU is a proud affiliate of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. The Center was created at Stony Brook University in 2009 to enhance understanding of science by helping train the next generation of scientists and health professionals to communicate more effectively with the public, public officials, the media, and others outside their own discipline.

As a part of IU’s affiliation with the Alda Center, we host a range of instructional programs and courses for faculty and students in science, medicine, and other technical fields. IU’s Alda Center affiliation is managed by a team of local partners including the IUPUI Department of Communication Studies, IU School of Medicine, IUPUI School of Science, and IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning.

IU is a part of a growing network of affiliate institutions across the country developing new approaches to helping current and future scientists and physicians develop the skills they need to connect to the public and to one another.
